Allen Bart Eldridge, 78, of Lenoir City passed away Friday, Oct. 23, 2009. Bart was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Bart was retired from Y-12 after 32 years of service where he worked as a health physicist. He was noted for his love for farming and cattle. Bart was a county commissioner in Loudon County serving for two terms.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank J. Eldridge and Jessie Johnson Eldridge; and by his first wife, Barbara Bye Eldridge.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Allene Eldridge; his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Janice Eldridge of Lenoir City; his nephew, Frank James Eldridge Jr. and wife, Marcie; his step-great-nephew, Matthew Rogers; his niece, Patricia Harrell of Lenoir City; his step-great-niece, Tamara Lennex; and his step-great-nephew, T. J. Lennex.
The family received friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Click Funeral Home. Funeral services followed at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Ron Fisher officiating. Burial was in the Lenoir City Cemetery. Click Funeral Home of Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements. www.clickfuneralhome.com.
