James H. Howell, Sr., 75, of Lenoir City passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, with his wife and children singing by his side.

He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and retired master mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ascha Howell; and by his brothers, Bob and Gene Howell.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice Howell; his son, James H. Howell Jr. and wife, Cathy of Vonore; his daughter, Melissa Green and husband, Mickey of Powell; his grandchildren, Quinton Howell, Krista Rose Green and Andrew Green; his brothers, Curtis Howell, Huey Howell and Wayne Howell and wife, Judy; and by several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thanks to his special nurse, Barbara Bowers, Dr. Jan Hahn and Beverly for their care.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Click Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8:30 p.m. with the Rev. Eddie Click officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and proceed to Lenoir City Cemetery for graveside services at 11 a.m.
