Jessie Huggins Towns, 88, of Lenoir City passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at 6:59 p.m.
Jessie died as she lived - praising her Lord and Savior with a song in her heart for the many blessings he has given her over the years. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was known for her sweet spirit and warm smile.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Kelsey Towns, Sr.; her son, Robert Kelsey Towns Jr.; her parents, Bob and Della Huggins; her sisters, Ozaline and Viola; and by her brother, Willie.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Kenneth Wheeler of Lenoir City; her daughter-in-law, Sandra Towns of Lenoir City; her grandchildren, Teresa Holland, Ken Wheeler Jr., Kelly Stacy, Robbie Towns and Susan Towns; and by her great-grandchildren, Morgan, Kelsey, Trey, Lauren and Robbie.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Summit View Nursing Home and the Jamestown staff for their special care and the love that was shown to Jessie while she was there.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Donnie Crass and the Rev. Larry Bryant officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, P. O.
