A Lenoir City man has been arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder for shooting his wife early Sunday morning.
Loudon County Sheriff Tim Guider said that alcohol had played some role in the incident. "He had been drinking but I don't know to what extent," Guider said.
According to the Loudon County Sheriff's Department, Michael Edward Brown, 48, 14420 Beals Chapel Road, told them he and his wife, Faye Brown, got into an argument at their home during which she called him a liar.
Michael told detectives he fired a gun at his wife. The bullet grazed her head and then lodged into a wall. Investigators says the woman was driven to Fort Loudoun Medical Center by neighbors where her injures were declared non-life threatening.
"As far as we know she is still in the hospital," Guider said Tuesday afternoon.
Guider said he was unaware of any previous domestic disturbance calls at the couple's home
