The Central Knights rode into Chig Ratledge Stadium Saturday and the Loudon Quarterback Club (LQC) sent them away taking three of four games.
Central 24, LQC Crickets 6 Loudon opened the day struggling, as the Crickets fell to Central 24-6. The lone Loudon score came in the fourth when Noah Burnette broke free for a 50-yard TD run. Central answered with 12 in the fourth to seal the win, though. Harley Cornett led the Loudon offense with 127 yards rushing on 13 carries. Kyle Smallen led the defense with five tackles.
Central 0, LQC Hoppers 16 The second game of the day got Loudon back on track for the remainder of the day, as the Hoppers won in a shut out 16-0. Mason Small opened the scoring in the second with a 34-yard TD. Max Melton added the conversion to put Loudon up 8-0. Neither team scored again until the fourth when Jeremy Wiggins caught a 12-yard TD pass from Cameron Baker. Dawson Blankenship was successful on the conversion to clinch the win. Small led the Loudon offense with 85 yards and a TD on 10 carries. He also paced the defense with four tackles.
Central 6, LQC Mustangs 28 The Loudon Mustangs continued the LQC success with a 28-6 win in the third game of the afternoon. The scoring began in the first when Noah Lowe raced in from 54 yards away. Loudon scored twice in the second quarter when Isaiah Lowe caught a 31-yard TD from Jacob Crabtree and then added the conversion with the same duo. Noah Lowe then took off for a 90-yard TD to put Loudon up 20-6 at halftime. The final touchdown came in the third quarter when Layne Parks caught a five-yard TD from Crabtree. The quarterback added his own conversion to seal the win. Crabtree finished the game three of four through the air for 39 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed twice for 30 yards and a conversion. Colten Brown led the defense with eight tackles.
Central 0, LQC Indians 24 For the second time in the four games, the LQC recorded a shut out. This time it was the eldest Loudon club, as the Indians won 24-0. Tyler Ferguson kicked off the scoring by punching in a one-yard TD in the second quarter. Chase Lane added the conversion to put Loudon up 8-0. The scoring continued in the second half when Tyler Ferguson rushed in from six yards out. Macklin Russell added the conversion. The final touchdown of the game came in the fourth quarter when Jack Nichols II returned a punt 22 yards for a TD. Russell added another conversion for the final tally. Russell led the offense with 39 yards rushing on seven carries. Ma'Leake Tatham led the defense with four tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery.
The LQC will hit the road Saturday to face off with Madisonville. The first of four games is set to begin at 4 p.m.
