Two individuals were arrested Monday in connection with a home
invasion on Riverchase Drive in Lenoir City.
George Patrick Locklear, 19, of 1155 Jackson
Bend Road, Lenoir City, was charged with resisting arrest/prevention of service and aggravated
burglary. The other arrest was of a juvenile. Loudon County Sheriff Tim Guider said a frantic 911
call came in at approximately 9:31 p.m. The caller told authorities two men came into her residence
and they were dressed in black. The victim was able to flee the residence and a neighbor called
911.
Guider said deputies arrived on the scene at approximately 9:36 p.m. with K-9 units also
responding. A perimeter was immediately set. K-9 units caught the juvenile subject in some nearby
woods. One of the K-9 units was deployed and hit on a scent that led into the lake. K-9 Diego
jumped into the lake and swam to the bank on the other side of the cove. The K-9 then apprehended
the suspect, later identified as Locklear, who was then taken into custody.
The sheriff
noted the K-9 units receive water detection and apprehension training, which was key to the suspect
being apprehended after fleeing through the water. Both subjects were charged with aggravated
burglary and both admitted to the crime, according to authorities.
Guider said the Loudon
County Criminal Investigations Unit was currently investigating Locklear for several burglaries in
the Loudon County area.
The CID unit interviewed Locklear further and was able to solve at
least six other burglaries. According to authorities, some items have been recovered and other
arrests may be forthcoming. The juvenile will face a Juvenile Court hearing.
