After a bit of a slow start, the Lenoir City Lady Panthers opened up their offense and blew away Sequoyah on the road 47-21 Tuesday night.

The Lady Chiefs opened the game with a 7-2 lead, but the Lady Panthers answered that opening with 13 straight points to lead 15-7 after one.
Jessica Pace, Taylor Robinson, Catherine Hunley and Kara Steil all scored in the Lenoir City run.
The second quarter began with the Lady Panthers in strong control.  Tyler Powers opened the period with with a jumper, but the Lady Chiefs came back with three straight free throws from Haley Simpson.

Those would be the only points of the quarter for Sequoyah.
Robinson and Steil then added a free throw apiece for the Lady Panthers and a bucket by Shannon Parks gave Lenoir City a 21-10 lead at the break.
The Lady Chiefs scored first in the third quarter, as Danielle Slack hit a jumper, but the Lady Panthers rolled off 11 straight points in answer.

During the run, Parks, Pace and Hunley all hit threes, while Robinson tossed in a field goal.  The visitors led 32-12 at the conclusion of the run.

A Sequoyah free throw broke up the run, but not the Lady Panther momentum, as Robinson tossed in another bucket and Powers drained a three to put Lenoir City ahead 37-13 after three.
The Lady Chiefs made bit of a run midway through the fourth, as they reeled off six straight points, but the Lady Panthers answered with a bucket from Dawn Radford, free throws from Kristie Brackett and Kelsey Marriott and threes from Powers and Abbie Cheatham to secure the win.

"Our defense is what won this game for us," Lenoir City Head Coach Joe Lee said after the game.  "(Sequoyah) only had seven field goals and we held them to only three points in the second and third period."
Hunley was the only Lady Panther to score in double digits as she finished with 10 points.  Simpson led the Lady Chiefs with 11 points.

The Lady Panthers will take the Thanksgiving break off before returning to action Friday, Dec. 4 in a District 4(3A) match at home against Catholic.
Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
